Radical Archiving + Care-Based Processes
Interdisciplinary artists Megan Young and Leo Selvaggio conducted dozens of one-on-one 3D scanning sessions with participants across Northeast Ohio as part of a Knight Foundation funded exploration into care-based technology practices. The duo hosted sessions in public libraries, at arts institutions, and in private spaces in Akron, Berea, Cleveland, and Lakewood. Participants were invited to archive heirloom objects or pose for full body scans as part of larger conversations around transhumanism, artificial intelligence, computer vision, and the data body. Most of those pieces are now part of the growing repository connected to the multi-year project, With What We Could Carry.
