Strategies for Survival

This physio-spatial exploration of bodily and socialized experience gathers and shares participant knowledge around endurance, adaptation, and agency within hostile environments. True to its name, the work provides a sampling of rituals, both chosen and coerced, for those carving a life in hostile spaces.

Participant sourced and inherently rhizomatic, the project resists a fixed narrative or singular authorship. Instead, it unfolds through accumulated contributions, where personal gestures, habits, and acts of persistence connect across lived experiences. Each addition expands the work’s network of knowledge, tracing how survival is learned, improvised, and passed between people.
